In addition to general medical consultations, we run a range of specialist clinics and services for our patients. The services we provide are listed here.

Contraception/Family Planning

A full range of contraceptive services is available by appointment including:

  • Pills
  • Routine Pill, cap and coil checks are available with the Practice Nurse

Maternity Services

If you think or know you are pregnant please contact reception and they will give you the information on how to register with a midwife on line.

Pre-Pregnancy Counselling

Twenty minute appointments are available for couples to discuss a future pregnancy with the Doctor of their choice.

Child Health Surveillance

The Health Visitor runs a clinic at Lapworth Pre-School centre. These clinics are for well babies. If your baby is ill, please make an appointment during normal surgery times.

Child Vaccinations and Immunisations

All routine childhood vaccinations are available. Please contact the reception for details.

Mammography

Women in the 50-65 age group are automatically invited for a mammogram every three years. There is good evidence that this kind of check continues to benefit women over 65, who may ask to stay in the screening programme by telephoning 02476 967200 (‘Mammography’ is breast examination by X-ray).

Sexual Health Warwickshire

Sexual Health in Warwickshire is a free, confidential and easily accessible NHS service providing the following services:

  • Contraception
  • Family Planning
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Full STI (sexually transmitted infection) testing
  • HIV/AIDS service

There are 3 main sites. These are based at:

  • George Elliot Hospital, Nuneaton
  • Rugby Hospital
  • Stratford-Upon-Avon (now at Stratford Healthcare) Tel: 0300 123 6644

You can either book an appointment or attend as a walk in patient (please note they do have limited walk in slots).

Travel Vaccinations and Non-NHS Services

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you will need to make an appointment with a nurse. This initial appointment must be at least 6 weeks before you travel.

The NHS does not pay for all of the services we provide, so patients may be required to pay for some of these services. Please see attached list .

Our fees are in line with BMA approved national guidelines.

Teenagers

Teenagers may make appointments on their own with either of the doctors or the practice nurse about any health-related matter including:

  • Contraception
  • Smoking
  • Drugs
  • Alcohol

As for all patients, confidentiality is guaranteed.

Please book a routine appointment with one of the doctors to discuss this.

Improve Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT)

If you are currently struggling with depression or anxiety it’s advisable that you get in touch with us and speak to a GP. There is talking therapy support available through Coventry and Warwickshire IAPTs services.

Cervical Smears

These are recommended every three years for women between the ages of 25 and 50, and every 5 years up to the age of 65.
